Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), a unit of the National Council of Science Museums, opens up Stand for Stunts, a week-long open-air science show, for visitors on December 24. “It took around 14 days to make this science show happen, although we had been planning for around a month. We curated the materials for the show and adjusted them to our requirement to create a safe environment for the visitors,” said Tarun Das, technical officer, BITM

Several entertaining experiments with lasers, bubbles, balloons, and liquid nitrogen conducted during the show piqued the curiosity of the young crowd
To keep the show engaging, children were called from the audience to assist during the experiments
Efforts were made to engage every member of the audience irrespective of age, highlighting the idea that science can be fun for all
A young visitor, Sharaddyuty Kolay, a class V student of Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, said, “I love science because my family belongs to a technical background. My grandfather was a civil engineer and I learn physics from him. I loved taking part in the experiment.”
Prantika Gharui (second from right), a class XI Science student at Holy Child Institute was visiting with her friends. She said, “I loved the experiment. It's very dynamic and beautiful.”
Experiments involving weight distribution and basic principles of physics created a magical experience for those who were witnessing the phenomena for the first time. Along with the children, parents, teachers and other guardians who accompanied young visitors also watched with rapt attention
The show will start every day around 1pm and continue till January 1, 2023. Visitors can check at the ticket counter for show timings
