Dhanbad, June 25: A Dhanbad-based coal trader today lodged a complaint against a tainted primary health department clerk, Pramod Singh, and his two men with Saraidhela police, alleging that they tried to kill him.

According to the complaint by Binod Kumar Mishra (48), a resident of Bhuli Block B, two men fired at him twice from close range today morning near Heerak Road but he escaped miraculously. He suspects Singh, whose house in the same locality was recently raided by a team of state Anti-Corruption Bureau, behind this. Led by its SP Sudarshan Mandal, the team had detected Rs 5 crore worth movable and immovable assets disproportionate to his known income.

Mishra later got admitted to BCCL Central Hospital in Dhanbad out of nervousness.

Police, however, said neither used cartridges were found from the spot of the alleged firing nor anybody confirmed hearing gunshots.

Dhanbad SSP S.K. Jha said: "The case seems doubtful. Neither any bullet or signs of firing was found on the spotWe are probing it," he said.
