Jamshedpur, May 28:Tata Main Hospital has bagged the ISO 9001:2008 certification.

At a function held on its premises here today, the certificate was received jointly by H.M. Nerurkar, managing director of Tata Steel, and Raghunath Pandey, president, Tata Workers’ Union.

The ISO standards stress on making the customer central to all improvements in a given institution. It therefore has relevance in a service sector like a hospital that should be sensitive to patients’ needs by providing them with the best of healthcare.

One of the direct results attributable to the ISO certification is the patient contact process set up at TMH.
