Jamshedpur, May 26: Adivasi Association and Adivasi Kalyan Samiti played two cracker of matches, not missing a single opportunity to score, in the ongoing McDowell’s Celebration-Jamshedpur Sporting Association football league today.
While Adivasi Association defeated Andhra Sporting Union 3-2 in a super division tie at Gopal Maidan, the latter posted a confident 3-0 win over Adivasi Development and Welfare Association in an A-division clash at Armoury grounds.
The clash between Adivasi Association and Andhra Sporting Union turned out to be exciting as both teams displayed urgency in finding the net at every given opportunity.
The match gradually reached thrilling heights and efforts were made to the maximum to maintain grip over the proceedings. Much to the disappointment of the fans, the first half of the game remained goalless.
The Andhra Sporting Union managed to draw first blood through Paltu Singh in the 45th minute. However, Adivasi Association scored the equaliser a minute later, thanks to a classy shot from Muchiram Hembrom.
Amit Sardar got the lead for the winning out, by thrusting one into the net in the 56th minute. Dasmat Diggy slid in the third and final goal for his team in the 69th minute.
Andhra Sporting Union tried hard to reduce Adivasi Association’s margin of lead. The team succeeded in doing that by one goal with Rameez Raja finding the net in the 75th minute.
Solid defence on part of Adivasi Association prevented any further goals till the final whistle.
Adivasi Kalyan Samiti put it across Adivasi Development and Welfare Association in a one-sided affair.
The Adivasi Kalyan Samiti found goals at regular intervals as the players made their intentions clear.
Amar Sardar scored the opening goal in the 30th minute, helping Adivasi Kalyan Samiti maintain lead at the breather. Later, a brace from Sitaram Hansda, in the 61st and 64th minutes, settled the issue in favour of Adivasi Kalyan Samiti.
The Jamshedpur Sporting Association hockey league tie between Adivasi Kalyan Samiti and Community Centre Tata Motors ended in a goalless draw at Keenan Stadium.
