Tejas Kamitey of Tata Boxing Centre (TBC) and Rashmi Kumari of Urban Services emerged winners in the sub-junior girls' category on the penultimate day of the Jharkhand State Championship at JRD Tata Sports Complex in Bistupur on Friday.

Tejas floored Priti Sandil of Urban Services in the A-6 summit clash while Rashmi knocked out Chatra's Sandhya Kujur in the B-7 final bout.

Sabitri Singh of Urban Services, a wing of Tata Steel, claimed the title in the sub-junior girls' A-8 category by brushing aside TBC's Kiran Kumari in the final round.

Tejas furiously rained punches at her hapless rival before the referee stopped the contest in the second round while Rashmi also had a relatively comfortable outing.

TBC's Chanu Tiyu made it to the finals by posting a confident win against Puja Ravidas (West Singhbhum) in the junior girls' 46kg weight section. She will take on Chatra's Ganga Lohar, who beat Manisha Murmu of Urban Services in the last four clashes of the same weight category.

Pugilists of TBC and Urban Serices also displayed their prowess with aplomb by advancing into the finals of various weight sections in the senior men category.
