Dhanbad: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University will soon boast a logo exclusively designed by students and teachers of coal town colleges.

The varsity received 16 logo designs from PK Roy Memorial College, Dhanbad; RS More College, Govindpur; RSP College, Jharia, SSLNT Women's College, Dhanbad; KB Women's College, Bermo and BS City College, Dhanbad.

A meeting, chaired by principal of PK Roy Memorial College V.K. Sinha, was held on Thursday during which three of the 16 designs were shortlisted.

"The basic aim to invite entries from colleges is to involve both students and teachers in finalising the logo," said Singh.

N.K. Ambastha, head of philosophy department of PK Roy Memorial College, said, "The final logo, which will be designed by an artist, will be inspired from all the three logos. We will send the final design to the vice chancellor for his approval in the coming week."

"The logo will depict the Dharma Chakra of Lord Buddha. We also plan to include a Sanskrit chant Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya in the design," added Ambastha.
