Ranchi, Sept. 2: They are ready to dodge their classes. But then ask them to change their attires and they will grudge.
For the students of the St Xavier?s College, the sudden change in the dress code seems to have hit them hard. The ?rebellious? Xaverians seem not to be prepared to accept the whole thing ?easily?.
A huge group of Xaverians was seen in the Marketing Complex, just beside the college. But attending classes was the most difficult for them today.
The students called the new rule an attack on their independence. A second year student of history honours said: ?A person is not known by the costumes he or she wears. He is known by the kind of attitude he holds.?
The college authorities were in no mood to listen to these allegations. ?We want that the college has a good atmosphere. There are many students who have come from far-off places. They come from humble family backgrounds and cannot afford all those gaudy attires,? said college principal Nicholas Tete.
