Jamshedpur, Jan. 8: Every eatery in the steel city worth its salt is coming up with festivals to celebrate sumptuous delights this season.
If Hotel Smita is organising a Moghlai Food Festival with all Nawabi delicacies, Hotel Ganga Regency is promoting Coastal Food at their festival. Both the food festivals began here today. The spread would leave the food lovers asking for more.
“The Moghlai Food Festival is special as the dishes were made after a lot of experiment that we had done for over six months. We put in much hardwork to finalise the menu this time. Last year too, we organised Moghlai Food Festival, which attracted a huge number of gourmets,” said Haider, a senior chef at Hotel Smita.
The chefs have mixed and match many spices to make the platters tasty.
For aroma and garnishing, the chefs have used rose water, rose petals, saffron and sandalwood. Also the chefs have made it a point not to use any artificial colours in the preparations.
Moghlai parathas, Moghlai soup, tandoori chicken, reshmi kebab, sikandari raan (mutton dish) and shorba (non-vegetarian soup) while on the vegetarian menu, there will be khoya matar shabnami, aloo tandoori and paneer pasinda, among others.
To taste some hot and spicy coastal food, dropping in at Hotel Ganga Regency is a must. The mouth-watering Goan delicacies, along with delights of South Indian states, are finger-licking good.
“We have focused on Goan dishes but the a la carte spread is all about cuisine of the coastal areas like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh,” said chef Ashish Bose of Ganga Regency.
The Goanese food would have chicken cafrel, sorpotal, balcho, xacuti while avial, kalan, thoran, chettinad and kacchi gosht biryani will be the South Indian delicacies .
