School sets examples by waiving off fees of 23 months

The school meanwhile has also offered concession to the students in taking admission

At a time when several parents were compelled to discontinue the education of their children due to impact of covid leading to job losses etc, the management committee of a private school of Digwadih area of Jharia, New Angels Home School has set the example of preventing dropouts of students due to economic constraints of the parents by waiving off the school fees of 23 more than 500 students of Class I to V.

The school meanwhile has also offered concession to the students in taking admission; if their parents are facing financial constraints.

Talking to the media during press conference, MS Akhtar, Principal of New Angels Home School, a CBSE affiliated private school said, “ It is open fact that large number of people across the country have lost jobs due to impact of Covid while several other suffered the salary cuts affecting their income and not only the salaried class but several small traders have also suffered huge losses due to impact of covid”.

“All the parents whose children have been waived off today have paid the fees regularly before the imposition of lockdown but they couldn’t pay the same since the imposition of lockdown, so there is definitely a valid reason for the non payment of fees,” said Akhtar.

“After the reopening of schools many of such parents who could not pay the fee were hesitating to send their children to the school so we have decided to ease their difficulties and let them continue the education of their children by waiving off the fees from March 2020 to January 2022” said Akhtar.

“We started our school in 2005 and believe that operating school is not only for money making but we have also a social responsibility and we also can’t remain aloof from the ground realities and added that majority of their belong to economically weaker section of the society and particularly the daily wage earner including the laborers working with contractors, many of whom have lost their jobs, ” further said Akhtar they have also witnessed around 150 students drop outs in their school due to impact of Covid.

“We have launched the school along with other like minded with the mission of providing best education to the children of economically weaker section of the society and offer all kinds facilities like smart classes, education at meager fee of Rs 200 to Rs 400 per month” said Akhtar who is also a B Ed, M Ed and MBA degree holder.
