
Ranchi district administration and police have made elaborate arrangements for peaceful Sarhul celebrations on Thursday. Around 2,000 cops will be deployed across the capital while CCTV cameras will be installed at strategic locations. According to the route map prepared for akhara processions, restrictions will be imposed on traffic in some parts of the city. Here’s your festive road guide.
No-vehicle areas
Mahatma Gandhi Road or Main Road, Circular road, Kutchery Road, Upper Bazaar, from Bahu Bazaar to Siramtoli

From 1pm till processions end late in the evening

Kutchery Chowk, commissioner’s office, Shahid Chowk, Duragabari near Albert Ekka Chowk, Tharpakhna road, Line Tank Road, Sarjana Chowk, Vishnu Cinema road, Radheshyam Road, Lalji Hirji Road, SN Ganguli Road, Kali Mandir, Wool House, Patel Chowk, Bahu Bazaar Chowk and Sujata Chowk
Security
2,000 personnel drawn from district police, JAP, SAP and Home Guard will be deployed; monitoring through CCTV and drone cameras; volunteers from Sarhul committees to help people in distress
