Jamshedpur: Newly appointed Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) head coach César Ferrando has promised to make his boys play an entertaining game and form a competitive team in the upcoming Indian Super League.

The 58-year-old Spanish coach, who has taken over from Englishman Steve Coppell, said he would try to implement a new style with a Spanish blend. "I have watched all the videos of the JFC matches in the last ISL and tried to analyse their style. We'll try to form the best team," Ferrando, a former Atlético de Madrid mentor, said at a news meet on Saturday.

"Our main objective will be to give our best every day at every training session and make the team compete at the highest level. We will focus and prepare game by game. Success for me this season will be to play good football, implement a strong and unique football model in order to make the team more competitive in the league and let supporters enjoy the faith they have in me and my team," Ferrando said.

Ferrando comes on board with a fair bit of experience. He has managed teams like Atlético de Madrid, Valencia B, Elche and Albacete (La Liga and Segunda Division Clubs). He also represented top Spanish clubs as a mid-fielder.

Jamshedpur FC director Sunil Bhaskaran welcomed the new coach. "We are delighted to welcome Ferrando. We are extremely confident that he is the right person for the job and will work towards bringing glory to Jamshedpur," said Bhaskaran.

He further added how Ferrando proved his determination and love for the game while interacting with JFC team management. "Ferrando had thorough knowledge about our club, our players and the ISL, which was indeed very impressive," said Bhaskaran.

According to him, JFC have plans to tie-up with a Spanish club, though he declined to reveal any name.

JFC CEO Mukul Choudhari said Ferrando's sides have always played exciting football. "His team have always impressed everyone with their attacking approach. Ferrando will certainly guide our team well in the tournament," he added.

The Jamshedpur outfit will visit Madrid for pre-season training, which will be conducted on a high altitude. The team will also play practice matches with Spanish clubs.
