Jamshedpur, April 20: Who said pizzas and pastas are be all and end all of Italian cuisine? Just drop in at Little Italy to discover a whole new world of Italian food.

Little Italy, a chain of restaurants, has come to town to woo the gourmets here. Housed at the rooftop of Fortune Hotel Centre Point in Bistupur, the food joint will serve Italian delicacies and a few Mexican platters too.

“Many international guests and executive come to visit the steel city. They may not have a liking for Indian dishes and to cater to their needs we have come up with an Italian joint,” said Umesh Mehta, the chairman-cum-managing director of Little Italy.

The décor captures the Mediterranean essence with low seating chairs, round tables and white textured wall with a tinge of blue. The rooftop section gives you the opportunity to enjoy your food under the open sky.

Mehta believes the USP of the restaurant will be the less spicy and yummy food. Be it the antipasti (starters) like Crostini Della Casa (sliced bread, grilled and topped with sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, basil, garlic and roasted Italian aubergines) or Funghi Trifolati (fresh mushrooms sauted with Italian herbs and garlic, served with garlic bread), Cannelloni alla Fiorentina (pasta filled with Ricotta cheese, spinach, Mozzarella and basil), Risotto Con Asparagi (brown rice served with asparagus melted in white wine and Parmesan cheese), the hotel management promises every dish will be finger licking good. Fajitas, Nachos, Enchilladas and Quesadillas feature on the Mexican menu.

In Jharkhand, this is the second joint of Little Italy after Ranchi.
