Probing the minister-rebel nexus
Welfare minister Ramesh Singh Munda threats to withdraw support to the Arjun Munda government are becoming a bit too tiring. The publication of a confidential letter, written by the inspector general (operations) has exposed the nexus between the minister and extremist groups. Bound by the compulsions of coalition politics, it is impossible for the chief minister to take stern measures, But, he can certainly ask the top bosses in the home department how the controversial letter managed to find its way into the hands of journalists. But if the home department leaks out the inspector general?s letter to reporters, what?s the guarantee that it does not pass on secret information to rebel organisations? The chief minister should go for a thorough investigation. Then, we will know whether Ramesh Singh Munda alone is being made a scapegoat.

The traffic police have launched a campaign to stop parking of vehicles at no-parking zones. But I would like to take the opportunity to bring to your notice that the police are being biased. Last week, during a no-parking drive at Firayalal Chowk, Daily Market and Kutchery Road, the police penalised several people for illegal parking. But when it came to vehicles belonging to senior government and Army officers, the traffic policemen let them go without any fine. When, the common people, pay the major chunk of all taxes including road taxes how come the police shower favour over government officials? And shouldn?t the bureaucrats show the right path?

Due to traffic jam on Main Road, autorickshaws ply through the narrow and congested bylanes of Hindpiri. As a result, schoolchildren living in the locality face a tough time commuting. The district administration should take steps to ease traffic in Hindpiri as early as possible. The autorickshaw drivers should be hauled up for illegally plying through the narrow bylanes of Hindpiri

Four years after Jharkhand was formed, its capital is yet to have a proper drainage system. The site of water logging after every spell of rain is common during monsoons. The ambitious underground drainage system project of Ranchi Municipal Corporation might help the residents of the city, but it?s moving at a slow pace. With the new urban development minister Raghuwar Das talking about a beautiful
Ranchi can we expect a solution in this regard?

5. Sir,
I happened to watch a TV show highlighting the known fact that the
government functioneries think nothing of misusing the cars allotted to
them purely for official purposes. The vehicles are used for personal
things like dropping the children to school, enabling spouses to go
shopping. But there is nothing new in it. For the same is being done in
the state capital too. Everyday one can see the cars with beacon lights
stranded in front of different marketting complexes in the evening. The
official car turns into a family car by evening. The same can be seen in
front of the different city schools as well.
