Ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh were discovered stolen from a jewellery store in Ranchi’s Doranda at 4am on Tuesday.

The theft came to light when Balbinder Singh, the owner of Sunny Complex in which Sai Jewellers is one of the stores, woke up to a metallic sound. He came out to find the shutter of the store broken. Shop owner S.K.Verman has registered an FIR.

“A forensic science lab team visited the site. Criminals used a gas cutter to break in,” said OC Fouzal Ahmed.
