Pappus of Jamshedpur, rejoice. If you want to be the life and soul of a party or have Bollywood dreams or simply want to lose flab the fun way, just head for the dance floor of Rhythm’s, launched on Wednesday at Sonari.

Jamshedpur-based dancer Kalyan Bhowmick, who picked his moves from famed choreographer Shiamak Davar, has teamed with business partner Archana Kumar, to launch a one-of-its-kind cradle for western dance — Bharatnatyam is the only Indian touch — and music.

Pick your moves — salsa, b-boy, pop and lock, jazz, tango, contemporary or freestyle. Or if you want to make others groove to your beats, play the keyboard or strum some strings.

Rhythm’s aims to be the one-stop hub for people who want to learn western dance forms, play the synthesiser or guitar or do aerobics. And it is also eyeing big-ticket tie-ups and a gateway to Mumbai’s entertainment industry.

“I have personally met Terence Lewis in Mumbai and requested a tie-up. I’ve also applied for a teacher’s training at Terence Lewis Academy,” said Bhowmick.

Both the directors of the academy, Bhowmick and Kumar, stressed that they wanted to give exposure to students who wanted to pursue a career in Bollywood and were trying to forge links with tinsel town.

“And here’s a surprise, we’ll also teach Bharatnatyam and drawing,” said Bhowmick.

Lessons will cost Rs 500 a month with classes held two days a week. Aerobics will cost Rs 1,500 for five days a week. The minimum age limit is four years.
