| Roy: For stable alliance |
Jamshedpur, March 11: Amid rumours of JD(U) MLA Inder Singh Namdhari’s decision to join the BJP, senior BJP leader Sarayu Roy today admitted that Namdhari’s proximity with the BJP has “increased”.
Speaking to The Telegraph before leaving for Ranchi this evening, Roy said he would be meeting Namdhari late this night.
He said Namdhari would be welcome in BJP only after he resigns from the JD(U). “He will be like a free bird after he leaves the JD(U) and then he will be welcome in the BJP,” Roy said. He, however, refused to elaborate on what pre-conditions the party would welcome him.
Roy said any decision on the issue would have to be taken keeping the national perspective in mind. “There is an alliance between the two parties at the national level. In Bihar, there is a coalition government involving BJP and JD(U) and therefore the party will have to look at all the pros and cons,” the Jamshedpur (West) MLA said.
“Namdhari’s decision to support BJP candidate in the Palamau Lok Sabha byelection shows that he has taken it (the election) seriously. As far as dispute within the JD(U), it’s purely their internal matter and I have nothing to say on it,” he added.
Roy said: “Namdhariji is a seasoned politician. In his long political career, he has seen many ups and downs. In the process he has acquired a certain height. So if he takes any decision, it should be seen in totality and with an integral view.”
Roy, however, said the BJP would like that the matter does not precipitate. “We would not like the JD(U) to break,” he said.
On the investigations in the Sunil Mahto murder, Roy said there was multiplicity in investigations as district police, special branch and the CID, all are being involved in it. “There should not be any superimposition of these agencies and they should work in unison otherwise investigations would be affected,” he said.
He also asked the investigating officials to maintain restrain and divulge everything on a day-to-day basis.
