Hazaribagh, Sept. 12: Border Security Force (BSF) inspector-general I.M. Khan said that the BSF training centre and school in Meru has received the status of centre for excellence because of advance training of counter insurgency, counter terrorism and bomb disposal.

Khan participated in the passing out parade of 342 jawans of the training centre at Rani Jhansi Parade Ground in Meru, about 10km from here.

Khan said that the centre was getting trainees from the country and abroad to get skilled tips on such operations. He said, at present, officers of Maldives were being trained at this centre.

Khan told all the 342 jawans to maintain full honesty while performing their duties. He said human beings as well as animals were able to get a peaceful sleep in night because of alert jawans like them.
