Some residents in Adityapur have started opposing the accommodation of Covid-19 patients at the nearby ESI Hospital.
The ESI Hospital is located near densely populated Saldih Bustee in Adityapur, Seraikela-Kharsawan.
On Thursday, a delegation of 20 residents of Saldih Bustee met a senior doctor of the ESI Hospital, N. Kujur, declaring that they would not allow any Covid-19 patient be admitted at the hospital which is meant for the industrial workers.
Residents have said that residents of Chandil and Ichagarh who tested positive, were around 30km from Adityapur, so why should they be brought here. On Wednesday, around 300 residents of Saldih Bustee, including women, protested in front of the hospital.
Infection after travel
Jamshedpur: A youth from Dumaria block of Ghatshila, who had come from Chennai by a special train, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Thursday. The youth was already in a quarantine centre in Kadma. In Seraikela-Kharsawan, two new Covid-19 positive cases surfaced, one with travel history to Punjab and another with travel history to Bengal.
