Jamshedpur, March 1: Poor infrastructure of BSNL has almost left the mobile network in the city in tatters today.
Due to a link failure, the steel city was virtually rendered partially paralysed.
The BSNL authorities, however, attributed the deteriorating cellphone service to the act of problems digging at certain parts of the city and its periphery.
While the service of BSNL cellphone disappointed the users, Reliance Telecom’s users were equally frustrated for an equally bad service.
“I have to depend on the cellphone to operate my business. As the link failure or any technical problem continues to be a problem in BSNL, I had subscribed to the Reliance mobile as an alternative arrangement. But today I had the most horrible experience,” said Sanjay Bansal, a businessman operating in transport sector.
Moreover, transactions to the tune of crores could not be done by P&B, Canara Bank and Bank of India due to repeated link failures. The bank authorities as well as the people had to suffer immensely due to the poor infrastructure in telecom service.
R.K. Mishra, the BSNL general manager (Jamshedpur area), could not be reached for comments.
