Biker killed in mishap
Jamshedpur: One Mangal Singh (25) was killed on the spot after the bike he was riding skidded off Hata-Tata Road in Sundarnagar in the wee hours of Monday.
The incident took place when Singh was returning home to Lylam village after attending a religious function in Potka. Police said the youth had sustained fatal head injuries. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Body in tank
Jamshedpur: The body of a 31-year-old man, who accidentally fell inside a water tank at Zone 1-B in Birsanagar here on Sunday, was fished out on Monday. Yogendra Singh Munda, a resident of the same locality, was last seen by a neighbour peeping into the tank on Sunday evening. Police confirmed this to be an accident.
Burns death
Jamshedpur: A 14-year-old girl, who was admitted to MGM Medical College and Hospital with 80 per cent burns last Thursday, died on Monday. Sanjida Parveen, a resident of Gausnagar in Kapali, received burns while cooking.
Railway meet
Ranchi: South Eastern Railway (SER) authorities will hold a meeting with all the MPs, whose constituencies fall under Ranchi and Chakradharpur divisions, at a city hotel on Tuesday. A total of 12 Lok Sabha MPs and 9 Upper House MPs from Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha are in SER committees.
Bag thieves
Jamshedpur: Two men stole a middle-aged woman's bag in guise of helping her when she fell from a bike on Timken Road in Sidhgora on Monday. Babita Devi was returning home on a relative's bike, which skidded off the road. Two bikers, who stopped there to help them, picked up the bag containing Rs 10,000 and a cell phone. The woman has lodged an FIR.
Battery stolen
Jamshedpur: The battery, tool box and stepney of an auto-rickshaw, parked at Ramdas Bhatta in Bistupur here, were stolen on Sunday night.
Owner Jasminder Singh have lodged an FIR with police against some unidentified criminals on Monday.
Pipe leak
Ranchi: A pipeline, supplying water from Rukka Dam to Booty water tank, was damaged near BIT-Mesra More on Monday. Executive engineer of head work division Shashi Kumar Singh said the problem would be solved by Tuesday.

Hazaribagh: One Adarsh Kumar (26) of Ramgarh was arrested with a countrymade pistol in civil court area here on Monday.
