Ranchi, Aug. 5: Team India ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni relaxed at his Doranda home today till visiting former home minister Sudesh Mahto’s residence around 6pm.
At Sudesh’s residence on Kanke Road, Dhoni played with Sejal, the seven-month-old daughter of Sudesh.
“We had named our daughter Sejal (a person of strong character) at the suggestion of Dhoni. The team India ODI skipper is an international celebrity and my daughter was lucky to get his blessings,” Sudesh, the Ajsu legislator from Silli, said.
Last time, Dhoni had gifted Sejal a gold chain.
Sudesh said he and Dhoni discussed sports, particularly cricket and how to promote the local talents.
“Dhoni used to visit the Silli Sports Academy, about 60 km from the state capital, every Sunday to nurture the cricket and football talents from rural areas of Ranchi district. We have very old association and the ace cricketer visited my house on his own. No formal invitation was extended to him,” said Sudesh.
Early in the morning, Dhoni enjoyed a brisk drive of Harley Davidson bike. Accompanied by two bikers (reportedly his friends), he zoomed past Ashoknagar-Argora road.
The local lad continued to perform his social obligations as he proceeded for a dinner organised at Ratu Maharaja Palace, about 15 km from the state capital, on Ranchi-Lohardaga road.
