New Delhi, Dec. 5: The Supreme Court today received an undertaking from real estate tycoons Sushil and Gopal Ansal, accused in the Uphaar fire tragedy, that they would not leave the country without its permission.

The assurance was given after the families of the victims of the 1997 blaze expressed apprehension that the siblings, the theatre owners, could flee India.

The victims have filed a review petition against a 2015 apex court order fining the brothers Rs 60 crore but sparing them further jail term.
