Gaya, May 8: Rocky Yadav, the prime suspect in the Aditya Sachdeva murder case, is a postgraduate in political science from Delhi University.
Rocky, 23, has been living outside Gaya since the age of six. After primary education at DPS Ranchi, he finished Class X from a private school in Varanasi and shifted to Delhi for his Plus Two.
The young man was preparing for the civil services exam, his relatives said.
Rocky would visit Gaya during vacations and was deeply interested in local politics. His father Bindi Yadav is a Rashtriya Janata Dal muscleman and mother Manorama Devi a Janata Dal United member of the legislative council - the upper House in states such as Bihar that have a bicameral legislature.
Rocky's uncle Shital Yadav was deputy chairman of the Gaya district board.
Recalling an alleged incident in Jehanabad before the Assembly polls, a source said Rocky had waved a pistol at a pick-up van driver for overtaking his vehicle. However, when a crowd gathered, Rocky slipped away after flaunting his family connections, the source added.
Police said they were not aware of any previous criminal cases against Rocky.
