Kanpur, Sept. 24 (PTI): A teenager sleeping in his car with its AC on suffocated to death yesterday.
Vinay Gupta, 18, had gone to sleep in the car, parked inside his garage, after a power cut at his home. This morning, his family found him dead with smoke coming out of the vehicle.
Calcutta: The Bengal government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore to pay a festival grant of Rs 2,000 each to bus, minibus, taxi and autorickshaw employees who became jobless after the phasing out of vehicles older than 15 years. The grant, however, covers only employees of vehicle owners who have applied for replacement by August 25.
