Milan, Oct. 18 (PTI): An alleged middleman in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal has been arrested by Swiss authorities on corruption charges, Italian media have reported.
According to news website, La Repubblica, Guido Ralph Haschke could be brought to Italy by next week if he prefers not to appeal against his extradition before the Swiss federal court.
Barabanki (PTI): An eight-year-old girl was killed on Thursday during a celebratory firing at a programme in Uttar Pradesh’s Khewli village, police said. Sandhya died on the spot. Vinod, Agad and Anand, who were firing from their licensed guns, were beaten by villagers and then handed over to the police.

Mumbai, Oct. 18 (PTI): Preity Zinta today appeared before a magisterial court in Mumbai and secured bail in a cheque-bounce case.
The case was filed by Abbas Tyrewala, who had written the script of Ishkq In Paris, a film starring and co-produced by Preity. He alleged that a cheque of Rs 18.9 lakh given by the actress had bounced. The magistrate issued a warrant as the actress did not respond to the court’s summons on four occasions.
