Mumbai, April 7 (PTI): The anticipatory bail plea of Rahul Raj Singh, booked for abetting girlfriend and actress Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide, was today rejected after the complainant alleged it could be a "pre-planned murder".

After the order by a local court, a police team went to the hospital where Rahul has been admitted since April 3, two days after Pratyusha, 24, was found hanging in the flat she shared with him. Asked if the actor-producer would be arrested, an officer said they had gone to get "updates".

Opposing the bail plea earlier, the complainant's lawyer, Falguni Brahmbhatt, said the "entire incident could be pre-planned". "We suspect it could be murder and it needs to be probed."

Falguni asked why Rahul had taken Pratyusha to a hospital in Andheri instead of another near their home in Goregaon. She also questioned why he later fled from the Andheri hospital. "Why didn't Rahul call police or take a picture of the body before untying it from the fan," she asked.
