Actress Aashika Bhatia and popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav have joined the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2 as wild card contestants after showing up as guest judges for a captaincy task on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the two new contestants on the show streaming on JioCinema.
Aashika played Salman’s sister in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Aashika Bhatia, a 24-years-old television actress, hails from Surat. She is primarily known for her appearances in Hindi serials such as Meera (2009) and Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi (2011). She also played host Salman’s half-sister in Sooraj Barjatiya’s 2015 blockbuster Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Aashika enjoys immense popularity on social media, with 6 million followers on Instagram alone.
Before entering the Bigg Boss house, the actress posted a cryptic note on Instagram. “Life is about to change bigg time! Will be off social media for sometime. See you on the other side❤️. Love Aashika Bhatia,” it read.
Elvish Yadav is a YouTuber from Gurugram
Elvish Yadav is a 25-year-old YouTuber from Gurugram. He started his content-creating journey in 2016 and owns two channels at present — Elvish Yadav Vlogs (where he uploads daily videos) and Elvish Yadav (where he showcases short films he creates). Elvish has a combined audience of 15 million on his YouTube channels.
Like Aashika, Elvish also took to social media to inform his audience about his entry into the Bigg Boss house. “So ab time aa gaya hai ghar ka system change karne ka. So tumhara bhai.. main aa raha hu ghar ke andar ek ek ka system ko hang karne aur sabko bang karne. So see you guys there,” he said in a reel and wrote “Support Zaroor Karna” in the caption.
Meanwhile, Manisha Rani emerged as the new captain of the Bigg Boss house after beating Avinash Sachdev at the captaincy task. In the task, they had to give funny captions to pictures of their fellow housemates so that the pictures could go viral. Elvish and Aashika were the judges in this task and they crowned Manisha the winner, causing a lot of heartburn to Avinash, who was seen sulking in the house after the task.
