Rohit Saraf first stole our hearts with his chocolate-boy face as Alia Bhatt’s brother in Dear Zindagi in 2016. Apart from his screen presence, the Mismatched actor, who turns 26 today, is also known for making quirky videos with his filmi friends. Here’s why Rohit Saraf is a Gen Z icon.

The Gen Z chocolate boy

Rohit Saraf’s boyish charm has earned him the epithet of the Gen Z chocolate boy. His offscreen persona is quite similar to his onscreen persona of Rishi Singh Shekhawat from Netflix series Mismatched. The actor’s love for family members can be easily seen on his social media. He often shares adorable videos of playing with his niece. Rohit celebrated his 25th birthday last year, dancing with his mother to Tumse Milke from Parinda.

Loves to put on dancing shoes

The young actor is also a talented dancer and often posts his dance videos on social media. Before the release of Mismatched Season 2, Rohit shook a leg to the dance number Pipni. The audience was also in for a surprise as Rohit, Prajakta Koli, Vihaan Samat and Sanjana Sarathy took part in a digital dance off scene in Mismatched Season 2, where Rohit absolutely grabbed eyeballs with his moves.

Not afraid to flaunt his quirky wardrobe

The Vikram Vedha actor can also boast of an envious wardrobe. Rohit is not afraid to try out colours and can often be seen wearing bright colours such as pink and yellow. For Mismatched promotions, Rohit went for a pink shirt, paired with baggy jeans and a white embroidered vest. His winter clothing includes an eye-catching aesthetic palette of brown and green.

Enjoys fun with filmi friends

Rohit is friends with young actors Aisha Ahmed, Ritwik Bhowmik, Rohan Shah and Pashmina Roshan. They often make reels together and spend time with each other. Adulting star Aisha Ahmed and Hacked actor Rohan Shah even go on vacations together with Rohit.

Shines in both big and small screens

After his film debut in Dear Zindagi, Rohit worked in Hichki (2018) and The Sky Is Pink (2019). His portrayal of Rishi Singh Shekhawat in Netflix original series Mismatched (2020) received plaudits from the audience. Since then, Rohit has worked in Anurag Basu’s Ludo (2020) and Tamil film Nadukkaveri (2021).

Apart from doing Bollywood movies, Rohit also worked internationally in a Norwegian Film What Will People Say (2017), which was selected for the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 91st Academy Awards. His recent role as Shatak in the Hrithik Roshan-Saif Ali Khan film Vikram Vedha (2022) won him recognition as an actor who can venture beyond the role of a charming guy.
