Italian house of style Salvatore Ferragamo marked its grand arrival in the city on August 5, with four luxury watch collections — the F-80, Vara, Gancino and Salvatore. The brand has partnered with Timex to launch the line exclusively at Prime Watch World in Forum. “Each model is on a par with the latest designs in Milan, and now it will cater to the fashion needs of Calcuttans,” says V.D. Wadhwa, managing director, Timex Watches.

F-80 is a collection of travel luxury watches with the titanium structure complemented by black ceramic features. The watches are encased in gold and come with black rubber straps. Destined to be a woman’s best friend, the new Gancino sparkling timepieces have a cluster of diamonds on the dial with a dainty pendant hanging from its side. The watches come adorned with other natural stones too and with straps in various colours matching the stones.

Inspired by the Ferragamo shoe, Vara comes with three interchangeable straps to mix and match at whim. Choose from ruby red, silver, orange, white and black. The Salvatore collection pays tribute to the brand’s tradition of craftsmanship. Alligator straps, guilloche dials and case-backs in sapphire crystal reveal the beauty of mechanical movement.

Priced between Rs 50,000 and 25 lakh, Salvatore Ferragamo is luxury. “Calcutta is the third city in India to house Ferragamo watches. We see a shift towards luxury here,” says Angelique Brian from the house of Salvatore Ferragamo.
