Vicky Kaushal on Monday teased an announcement with Animal actress Triptii Dimri and singer-actor Ammy Virk — both part of an upcoming Karan Johar-backed project starring Vicky — through a video shared on Instagram.

“In a world full of news - we have two ready for you! But which one would you like first - good news or bad news? Let us know in the comments below,” the Sam Bahadur star wrote alongside a video message featuring Triptii and Ammy.

The video opens with Vicky telling his fans that he wants to share some news while a Punjabi track plays in the background. “Ab humare paas ek good news hain aur ek bad news…aap log kaunsa pehele sunna chahenge?” the 35-year-old actor says as Triptii and Ammy appear in the video.

While Triptii quickly says that she wants to hear the good news first, Ammy pauses to think for a moment and replies that he would rather listen to the bad one. It ends with Vicky breaking it to the two actors that the question he threw in the video is for the audience, and not for them.

The trio will be collaborating on a Dharma Productions-backed romantic comedy, tentatively titled Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. In July last year, Karan Johar had announced details about the upcoming film made in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video. While Anand Tiwari is the director of the film, Amritpal Singh Bindra has served as the producer.

Expressing his love for the director and the cast, and highlighting the importance of the making of the film, Karan wrote, “A film that is exceptionally close to my heart for various reasons….@bindraamritpal (the producer and family to me) has not only grown to be such a force of content and talent but I’m proud of how he has created a company of warmth and creativity. A company that puts goodwill over any commerciality.”

“@anandntiwari, his partner and director of our film, is the funniest guy in town with a golden heart! His film reflects both in absolute abundance,” Karan wrote about director Anand Tiwari.

Karan said that he cannot wait to direct Vicky again after their 2018 film Lust Stories. “I’m so thrilled to collaborate with @vickykaushal09, who I not only admire immensely as an artist but also as a human being of dignity and strength,” the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director added.

Karan referred to singer-actor Ammy Virk as a “powerhouse of energy and artistry in equal measure” and heaped praise on his “sheer aura and vibe”. About Triptii, who recently starred in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, Karan wrote, “And my darling @tripti_dimri who is in a commercial avatar for the first time. Her gorgeousness & presence has enhanced her every beat in the film! She is so solid.”

According to IMDb, Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam will also star Vicky’s Sam Bahadur co-star Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Neha Dhupia.

The film was initially slated to release in theatres on February 23 this year. However, it was postponed indefinitely later on.
