Picturesque beauty, a laid-back feel and delicious Bengali food — Tonushree Chakraborty enjoyed herself to the hilt and made the most of her stay at Raichak on Ganges, an idyllic getaway 52km from Calcutta. The actress soaked in the sights and sounds and also unveiled a new Bengali menu at the Sonar Tori restaurant. “It’s a great place to relax, unwind, reflect and take pictures. It gives a very peaceful, chilled-out feeling. I love the earthy vibe, ” said Tonushree.

Dhoti pants teamed with a bustier and dupatta made up Tonushree’s lookbook for a day out in the sun.
The sight of a solitary boat made Tonushree go into rewind mode. “For Cross Connection 2, I had to take a boat ride. I was a bit scared and not ready to get on the boat. It was quite an experience. However, the shot came out really well.”
Tonushree was bowled over by the exotic Bengali spread comprising everything from Luchi, Begun Bhaja, Machher Bora, Chingrir Malai Curry, Bekti Paturi to Kosha Mangsho, Pulao, Chutney, Payesh, Rajbhog and Mishti Doi.
Tonushree enjoyed the view of the river. “Also, I love to gaze out at the sea. It is so soothing. And every wave is different, it is ever-changing, just like life.”

This year, apart from our signature Zamindari and Gramin Thalis, we have introduced several a la carte options which can be ordered alongside the thali. The menu has a new variety of fish preparations and authentic Bengali delicacies for dessert — Mayukh Ray, general manager and business head, Raichak on Ganges.
