A drug peddler, a daredevil don who can beat 10 men to pulp! Feisty and courageous, that’s what Koneenica Banerjee plays in Kader Kuler Bou, a telefilm to premiere on Zee Bangla Cinema on March 22, 9pm.

Produced by Prosenjit’s Nideas Creations and Productions, Kader Kuler Bou is shot like a film. So, what got Koneenica back where it had all begun for her? “Well, I really don’t have the energy to slog for 14 hours on television anymore. My last mega serial Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti on ETV Bangla was six years ago. But when I was offered Rukhsar (the protagonist in Kader Kuler Bou) I said yes because I have never played a character with so many shades and I know I will never be offered another,” smiled Koneenica. 

The trailers doing the rounds on Zee Bangla show Konee walking around in sari, bindi and sunglasses, displaying A for Attitude, and even assaulting a man like no woman has on the Bengali small screen. “Rukhsar thinks like a man. And she punishes her enemies by almost raping them! She is a lady don. How she rises to be a power-hungry woman from extreme poverty is what Kader Kuler Bou is about,” said the actress. “Rukhsar is loud and in your face. That was very exciting, being somebody who’s not at all like me.”

Directed by Souvik Kundu, Kader Kuler Bou also stars a host of theatre artistes. “Everywhere I go people say what a good actor I am and then they ask me ‘what’s your next project?’ and I have nothing to say. Now I am very excited!” smiled Konee.
