The cast and crew of Anindya Chattopadhyay’s Projapoti Biskut got together at Nandan II to launch the trailer of the film. Revolving around a newly-married couple (newcomers Ishaa Saha and Aditya Sengupta) living in a joint family, Anindya Chattopadhyay’s second film (after Open Tee Bioscope) goes on to depict the challenges the couple face in that middle-class household.
The film is produced by Shiboprosad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Roy’s Windows. Music men Shantanu Moitra, Anindya, Anupam Roy and Prasen Mukherjee have composed songs for the film. “It’s fun to work with Anindya once again, our journey started with Antaheen, and with each film I have seen him grow. Projapoti Biskut for me is his finest work, a talented director has emerged... he reminds me of Hrishikesh Mukherjee!” said Shantanu.

The score of Girish Malik’s Jal (2014), composed by Bickram Ghosh and Sonu Nigam, was in the Oscar long list for the Best Original Score. And now Girish’s latest film, Band of Maharajas, will see Bickram in a new avatar. He plays an Afghan musician in the film! “It’s my first Hindi film as an actor. The film is about how musicians from across borders come together to create music as a band. My character Firoze has a turbulent past and he comes into this band. Entertainment and music take on a bigger connotation in the film. It’s a way of life, it’s human freedom. It takes on all these metaphors. I am doing two songs and the background score as well. It’ll be a magnum opus!” said Bickram, who made his acting debut with the Bengali film Hotath Neerar Jonnyo in 2004. What was the first scene he shot for in Band...? “It was of me performing. I was in the zone and then we shot the acting part. Once the beard and surma were in place I felt like Firoze. I was very comfortable in front of the camera this time around. My concept of acting has changed over the years. I was taken in Hotath Neerar Jonnyo for my flamboyant personality. Now, there is an intensity to this role. Over the years I have started seeing acting as an internal process, having done music for several films, and being married to an actor (Jaya Seal Ghosh),” said Bickram.
