TRAILER: PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO
“Main waapas aa gaya!”
Salman Khan is back as Prem in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, his Diwali biggie directed by his Maine Pyar Kiya maker Sooraj Barjatya. As expected, the 2:08 trailer is all about family values and together times, marked by opulent sets and exotic locales. Also starring Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Swara Bhaskar and Anupam Kher, the highlight of the trailer is Salman in a double role. The week’s biggest YT hit — the film hits theatres on November 12 — has been watched and rewatched times 2,788,201 so far.
RONALDO
“Tell me the best player in the world,” asks Cristiano Ronaldo, over a few drinks with friends, in the 2:01 trailer of the documentary Ronaldo. He answers with a loud laugh: “Me!” and quickly adds: “Until January.” The documentary follows a year in the life of the Real Madrid star and features unseen footage and interviews. Shots of the three-time Ballon d’Or winner are interspersed with clips of his son and that of his arch rival, Lionel Messi. The quote of the Anthony Wonke-directed docu comes at the end when CR7 Jr says: “I’m going to be a goalkeeper. Okay, dad?” The deadpan response: “A goalkeeper? Are you joking?” With 2,645,588 shots, this sure is a docu delight.
HE WHIMPERS!
He desperately tries to roar out loud, but it all ends in a whimper. An adorable video of a lion cub trying to roar, but failing miserably each time, has caught the fancy of YouTube users. Playing out over 15 seconds, the video has the cute little thing putting on its ‘scariest’ face as it tries to get some sort of a voice out of its throat — but all it manages is a series of almost inaudible sounds. The video that has made the world go ‘awwww’ has 1,827,525 mews to its name.
KAPIL SHARMA ON AAP KI ADALAT
After years of doing fun chats with celebrities on Comedy Nights With Kapil, funnyman Kapil Sharma was the man in the box on a recent episode of Aap Ki Adalat. Grilled by host Rajat Sharma, Kapil — who recently made a successful Bolly debut with Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon — smartly sidestepped all ‘allegations’, even as Bhojpuri actor-singer Manoj Tiwari did duty as judge. What we loved? Some fun — and awkward — pictures of Kapil as a teenager. ROFL! Total views for the episode clocking 75 minutes? 1,730,736.
CAMERA SHY? NOT!
His fascination for selfies is evidence enough how much Narendra Modi loves the camera. The Prime Minister became the talk of the online world once again this week, courtesy a 14-second video in which he puts Facebook honcho Mark Zuckerberg in his place — the ‘mark’ for any photo-op, old boy, is beside and not in front of NaMo. Standing in the middle of Zuckerberg and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Modi quickly pulls Zuckerberg over to one side when he realises that the
31-year-old wiz kid is blocking the cameras! Trolled on Twitter, Modi’s Marked-man act even gave rise to a hashtag: #ModiFindsCamera. On YT, the clip has 629,933 boos.
TRAILER: TITLI
After the first trailer failed to grab eyeballs, producers Dibakar Banerjee and Yash Raj Films have come up with an all-new trailer for their October 30 film Titli — and boy, does it hit home! Tense and gripping, the 2:24 clip focuses on the changing equations and fickle relationships of a family of car-jackers. Things go awry when one of the brothers wants out of the gang — with fatal consequences. Starring Ranvir Shorey, Shashank Arora and Amit Sial and directed by Kanu Behl, Titli promises to be a crazy ride. For now, the trailer has 313,839 claps.
VIDEO OF THE WEEK
CONFESSIONS OF A CELEB MIND
Not even a month into his new job as the host of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert wants to prove he is not just “a slab of camera meat”. On Thursday night, he contemplated the mysteries of existence with his “fellow famous” in a section called ‘Big Questions for Even Bigger Stars!’ And that “bigger star” turned out to be Tom Hanks. Lying on the grass they spent 6:54 minutes gazing up at shooting stars and engaging in a Q&A.
Stephen: “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Tom, without batting an eyelid: “Maybe because god is really old and his eyes are gone!”
Tom: “What really scares you?” Colbert: “Oh, knowing that every time I move there is a spooky skeleton inside my body doing exactly the same thing. It’s following my movements everywhere I go.”
And guess what’s Tom’s idea for a film that hasn’t been made: “An elite team of secret service dogs that protect the President’s dog.”
