It’s a New York minute. Anything can happen. Magic can be created Sex and the City style, especially if you are on a Sex and the City hotspots tour.
The big bus (top ) picked up SATC fans from the fifth avenue, between 58th and 59th street. It’s fast filling. Mostly with girls (in quest for a slice of the fabulousness of the four fabulous-istas) and some guys (who were forced to accompany them — dare they yawn).
These girls drank, shopped and breathed Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York. The characters brought alive on the small and big screens by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. With huge help from designer wardrobes, an army of hairstylists, Manolo Blahniks and Cosmopolitans! And then there is the fifth cast member, a star performer called New York City.
The tour takes you around the city, locations where they gossiped during the day over drinks, walked their dog, shopped, got mugged and had sex. A sassy guide, lots of telly trivia, random facts from the show… this tour is an SATC fan’s dream come true.

For half a day, it’s a sample of a slice of life of the girls. Eat pizza at Two Boots (above), buy a toy at Pleasure Chest (where Miranda bought herself a rabbit) and drink up at O’Neil’s on Grand Street (cosmos at a discounted price). Drive past the DVF store near the meatpacking district where Carrie asks Samantha to be maid of honour, take a tour of ‘it’ restaurant Buddakan (below) where Carrie and Big had their rehearsal dinner in the first movie. Or stop at New York public library where Carrie and Big didn’t get married and then stare at 49th street where she beat him up with her bridal bouquet of flowers, thrice.

It’s quite thrilling, actually. By the end of it, you fall in love, all over again, with the girls, their fabulous lives, and New York City. The tour wants to make you want to run home and re-watch ALL the episodes. After you have changed your return ticket.
FYI...
Jersey Street where Carrie gets mugged (episode 17, season 3) is actually quite a harmless-looking street.
The go-to diner of the girls doesn’t exist in NYC and is actually just a set!
But the place where Carrie interviews Jennifer Hudson (the first film) for a job as her assistant is a real Starbucks, not a set.
The NYC taxi stops miraculously just for Carrie. Not for people like us.
