Alia Bhatt’s Safeena, Ranbir Kapoor’s Bunny and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dr Jehangir Khan have come together for a Siddharth Anand-directed advertisement, blending fan-favourite characters from different films into one sequence that has resonated with netizens.
While Alia played the short-tempered and witty Safeena in the 2019 film Gully Boy, Ranbir essayed the role of fun-loving and ambitious Bunny in the 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Shah Rukh was Dr Jehangir Khan, a psychotherapist, in the 2016 film Dear Zindagi.
The advertisement, which was first dropped on Friday, shows Safeena and Bunny visiting Dr Jehangir to seek marriage counselling.
The video begins with Safeena and Dr Jehangir waiting for Bunny who arrives late. Dr Jehangir then asks the couple about their marriage. Safeena asserts her spunky persona as she proceeds to answer the question. “I had asked for ice, and Bunny went to Ladakh. When I asked him why he was so busy, he replied that the mountains were calling. Mountains ke saath gulu gulu karega toh dhoptungi na (If he becomes so cosy with the mountains, I will certainly lose my temper),” says Alia, echoing her iconic dialogue from Gully Boy.
Bunny retorts, “Doctor, I want to fly, I want to run, but I don’t want to get stuck in this house.” “I climbed the roof to watch the sunset the other day, and the roof gave in. I don’t feel safe in this house,” he adds, accentuating the humour of the scene.
Dr. Jehangir replies that he has a solution which would certainly make their house unbreakable, if not their marriage. He then takes out of his cabinet the steel bars that the advertisement seeks to promote.
The ad is directed by Pathaan helmer Siddharth Anand, who shared the video on X on Saturday with the caption, "A fun shoot this was. Happy to share now.”
In 2023, Shah Rukh had collaborated with Alia on an advertisement promoting a fabric brand.
He shared screen space with the actress in Gauri Shinde’s 2016 film Dear Zindagi. Shah Rukh had a brief cameo in Ranbir Kapoor’s 2016 movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
While Shah Rukh has Sujoy Ghosh’s King in the pipeline, Alia will next star in YRF Universe’s first female-led spy film Alpha. Ranbir, on the other hand, is gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The actor will also star alongside Alia and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic romance drama Love & War, slated to hit theatres in March 2026.
