Rituparna and Sohini in Alik Sukh

Stage and screen actress Sohini Sengupta is tying the knot with upcoming theatre artiste Saptarshi Moulik, on August 2, at a private ceremony with friends and family.

“Saptarshi and I have known each other for three months and one day he told me he wanted to get married. He broke the news to his parents first and then mine (Rudraprasad and Swatilekha Sengupta). Both the families are very happy,” said Sohini, who plays Rituparna Sengupta’s alter ego in Shiboprosad Mukhopadhyay-Nandita Roy’s Alik Sukh, currently running in theatres.

Sohini was earlier married to stage star Goutam Halder.

“Saptarshi, though younger to me by a few years, is very level-headed and we both respect each other a lot. I wasn’t really prepared for a second marriage because I’m quite the Bohemian and I wanted to live-in with him. But Saptarshi was keen we get married. I hope we make a happy couple,” smiled Sohini.

Saptarshi and Sohini will live with his family for a while in Uttarpara before shifting to Sohini’s Salt Lake apartment.
