What Claudia does for her oomphy figure:
I don’t drink or smoke, neither do I gorge on fast food. Smoking causes permanent damage to the skin and is very harmful.
Make-up isn’t very good for the skin either. I always go for minimum make-up or avoid it completely.
I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and always skip dinner.
I am into a lot of sport. I do horse riding, swimming, walking and cycling. These are different exercises for different parts of the body.
I don’t go for massages in Germany, but when I was in India shooting for Karma: Crime, Passion, Reincarnation. I would regularly go for Ayurvedic massages. It was very good and relaxing.
My hands are my best assets. I think they are beautiful. I take good care of my hands. I apply hand creams. I believe that hands can tell a person’s age.

Don Soumitra Chatterjee shows his gun to reporter claudia on the sets of 10:10 at swabhumi. Picture by Aranya Sen |
So what if she has a 10/10 body? Claudia Ciesla is not game for baring her assets just for show. t2 gets up close and personal with the German hotbod on the sets of 10:10...
On showing skin in 10:10...
I am not here for skin show. In 10:10, I play Serene, a journalist who bonds with the rest of the characters in the film. So there’s no skin show. Besides I don’t think people would offer me a role where I need to show skin. People in India are very conservative. I have watched a few Shah Rukh Khan films and there was no skin show in them.
On stripping for a role...
I would prefer to do normal roles which won’t need me to show skin.... If I need to show skin or do an intimate scene, I need to read the script first and see who is directing and producing the film. I’ll have to see if it would be shot aesthetically and how much I would actually need to bare. Also, my role should be meaty. It shouldn’t be a small role with six sex scenes.... I am game for intimate scenes only if my role is intense and I have the lead role. The scene needs to be shot elegantly.
On being in her own skin...
I am very comfortable with my body. I respect my body a lot. It’s important to respect your body otherwise you wouldn’t feel comfortable. Besides, I can’t change anything about myself so I am happy with my body.
On calcutta men leering at her...
I have just mingled with the unit of 10:10. They are all very professional people and know what kind of a person I am and also who I am. So they have never tried to misbehave with me.

What her co-stars think:
I don’t think this is the first time a foreigner is acting in a Bengali film. In our times, there were many foreigners who did cameos in films. They were easily available back then. — Soumitra Chatterjee, who plays Durga, the don.
Claudia is really sexy and beautiful. She is also very sweet, nice and down to earth. She is very easy in front of the camera. — Subrat Dutta, who plays struggling actor Apratim.
Claudia isn’t happening at all! Just because she is fair-skinned doesn’t necessarily make her sexy. Besides I don’t like big round things. — Kanchan Mullick, who plays don Durga’s right-hand man Montu.
I don’t really think Claudia is the sexiest thing to have happened to Tollywood. We have far sexier heroines in Tollywood. For us the definition of sexy also includes a beautiful face. — Abir Chatterjee, who has a cameo in the film.
Claudia is very sexy and that’s why there’s so much hype around her. — Ritika Paul, who plays superstar Chameli.
Claudia is a very nice girl and very sexy too. But we have sexier heroines, like Debasree Roy and Rituparna Sengupta. — Chirosree (Sananda Tilottama 2008), who plays a reporter.
