One song you are listening on loop: I usually never listen to songs on loop. It’s always an album or a playlist. Right now my playlist has songs by The Corrs, Passenger and The Smiths.
A music video that blew your mind: Pink Floyd’s High Hopes. Amazing images. Very inspiring.
Music app you are hooked to: No apps, no music on my phone.
Apple Music or YouTube: YouTube, but many of my friends want me to shift.
Fave music fashion: Post-1990s; definitely not glam rock. I like the style sported by bands like Oasis... casual jeans, shirts and tees.
Musician whose life has inspired you the most: I don’t know much about musicians’ lives. Everyone has their own share of troubles. I have mine :-)
A book on music you’d recommend: I liked Vikram Seth’s An Equal Music but not sure if this qualifies as a book on music.
A film on music you’d recommend: Begin Again, with Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine and Keira Knightley.
Your fave auditorium to perform in: Victoria Theatre in Singapore.
Your all-time favourites...

Popstar: Sting, and one of my fave songs is Englishman In New York. He has a superb career, with a great combo of lyrics and music and vocals.
Band: Pink Floyd. Lyrical content + musical content = rich stuff.
Guitarist: Slash.
Songwriter: John Lennon-Paul McCartney.
Your current favourites...
Popstar: John Mayer, and the song is Edge of Desire. With music changing so drastically over the years, he’s the only one who has stood tall with his brand of music. And his guitar playing is superb.

Band: Maroon 5 (led by Adam Levine) for This Love. Despite so much pressure, they have survived and are delivering hit after hit. I am thankful for One More Night which removed Psy’s Gangnam Style from the No. 1 spot. I also have a weakness for Coldplay and their first three albums (Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y).
Guitarist: The Edge (from U2) for City of Blinding Lights... or any U2 song for that matter. Also, I have a soft spot for John Frusciante.
Songwriter: Noel Gallagher.
Most sexy female singer of all time:

Andrea Corr or Dido, for voice and appearance mainly.

Most charismatic stage performer: Jon Bon Jovi.
Your faves in the Indian music circuit...
Stage performer: Sunidhi Chauhan, she is very good.
Band: Chandrabindoo.
Singer-songwriter: Kabir Suman and Nachiketa. I keep both of them since I feel Nachiketa has offered more in terms of melody, and Suman in terms of lyrics and content.

One song you are listening on loop: I don’t listen to songs on loop. Right now I am listening only to Radio Bangla Rock, an Internet radio station run by Bangla Rock Magazine. It plays all kinds of alternative Bangla songs across all time.
Most charismatic stage performer: Kurt Cobain, Axl Rose, Robbie Williams, Gautam Chattopadhyay and Kabir Suman.
Music app you are hooked to: TuneIn, the Internet radio.
Apple Music or YouTube: Apple Music.
Fave music fashion: The grunge style of fashion from the Nineties.
A book on music you’d recommend: There are many books that will help you know your favourite artiste better but I would recommend John by Cynthia Lennon. It is a wonderful account of Lennon’s life from the point of view of his first wife. Of course you have to be initiated into Lennon before reading this book.
Albums on your wish list: Shongbigno Paakhikul O Kolkata Bishoyok, Ajana Uronto Bostu and Drishyomaan Moheener Ghoraguli, all three by Moheener Ghoraguli.
Fave unplugged set: Nirvana, Eddie Vedder solo.
Fave live concert: Gautam Chattopadhyay with Krosswindz, the classic line-up.

Jazz: Tanmoy Bose and Mainak ‘Bumpy’ Nag Chowdhury.
Rock: Jack White.
Pop: Amit Trivedi.

Your current favourites...
Popstar: Ryan Keen, Ed Sheeran, Alexi Murdoch, Ben Gibbard... I like all their songs.
Album: Blunderbuss by Jack White. It came across as a complete and meaningful album to me.
Songwriter: No one in particular.

Most sexy female singer of all time: Conventional sexy is Shakira, an excellent songwriter and performer.
Unconventional sexy is Alanis Morissette. She has got the sexiest pen of all.

Films on music you’d recommend: Cadillac Records (starring Beyonce) to know the roots of rock ’n’ roll; Nowhere Boy and Backbeat to know about John Lennon; Across the Universe and School of Rock to know the philosophy of rock better.

A music video that blew your mind: Bad by Michael Jackson. I love the aggression… it echoed the sentiments of a generation.

A musician whose life has inspired you the most: John Lennon and Lalon Fakir. Their philosophy comes through in their lyrics.
Your all-time favourites...
Popstar: Michael Jackson. And the song? Gone Too Soon, for the emotional quotient.

Album: Ichhe Holo by Kabir Suman. It inspired me to reach new heights.
Songwriter: Jim Morrison.
Guitarist: Paul Gilbert.
