The jugalbandi of Rahul Sharma and Subhankar Banerjee and the combination of santoor and tabla made for a soulful and melodious evening at Calcutta Club recently. The duo wowed the audience with their music for Black Dog Sparkling Water presents An Evening with Rahul Sharma and Subhankar Banerjee, partnered by The Telegraph.
“The audience was lovely tonight! It’s always a pleasure playing in Calcutta because I believe the city has some of the most musically intellectual people you’ll ever meet,” Rahul Sharma told t2 later.
“The strength of classical musical can touch lives. It takes immense concentration and practice, but it gives me so much joy, it really is a blessing for me,” said Subhankar Banerjee.


Neha Jhunjhunwala came with husband Nikhil. “I love my Bollywood songs but I came here to listen to Rahul Sharma. He’s such a huge classical music sensation and has performed with so many internationally acclaimed artistes. People from our generation would normally not listen to this kind of music, but it was the most melodious thing I’ve heard in a very long time,” she said.
