SS Rajamouli’s epic action drama RRR has become the only film in the English and Non-English categories to trend globally on streaming platform Netflix for 14 consecutive weeks, the makers of the film announced on Wednesday.
The official Twitter page of the RRR movie shared a poster of the blockbuster, starring Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr, and wrote, “Delighted to say that, in English & Non-English categories, #RRRMovie is the ONLY FILM to trend GLOBALLY on @NETFLIX for 14 consecutive weeks.”
Since its release on Netflix, RRR has been winning applause from filmmakers across the globe. Dr Strange director Scott Derrickson and Vampire Diaries actor Joseph Morgan were among the many popular Hollywood personalities to shower praise on Rajamouli’s “masterpiece”.
The film, which released in theatres on March 26, also became the most-watched Hindi film on Netflix in June, with its Hindi version being watched for over 45 million hours.
A tale of two friends and their battle against the British regime in pre-independent India, RRR also stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in important roles.
