The Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is set to hit the theatres today amid much fanfare. But it’s not the only movie to arrive in cinemas this Friday as you can also enjoy a Japanese crime thriller, a horror comedy, a fantasy comedy and a social drama over the weekend. Here’s a look.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Hindi)

Flamboyant Punjabi dude Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh) falls in love with intellectual Bengali girl Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt) despite their cultural differences in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. They choose to spend three months with each other's families as a prelude to their marriage. However, winning the hearts of their prospective in-laws turns out to be a tough task for both Rocky and Rani. Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Churni Ganguly and Tota Roy Choudhury play key roles in this romantic drama.

Haunted Mansion (English)

Astrophysicist Ben Matthias (LaKeith Stanfield) becomes a ghost tour guide after his wife dies in an accident. He and Father Kent (Owen Wilson) are recruited by Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her son Travis (Chase W. Dillon) — the new residents of a haunted mansion — to deal with the supernatural. The group discovers the mansion's dark history and a malevolent entity called the Hatbox Ghost (voiced by Jared Leto). With the help of a psychic, they uncover the truth and must now defeat the vengeful ghost.

Psycho-pass: Providence (Japanese)

In the year 2118, chief inspector Akane Tsunemori (Kana Hanazawa) is confronted with a distressing report about Prof. Milicia Stronskaya's death on a foreign vessel, attributed to the foreign paramilitary group Peacebreakers. This group seeks the Stronskaya Document, a collection of the professor's research papers, posing a significant threat to Japan's government and the Sibyl System. Akane teams up with former fugitive Shinya Kogami (Tomokazu Seki) to uncover a complex and dangerous situation as the Stronskaya Papers hold profound truths that could potentially challenge the very foundations of society.

BRO (Telugu)

A remake of Samuthirakani’s Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham (2021), BRO revolves around Markandeyulu aka Mark (Sai Dharam Tej), a self-centred IT worker in Hyderabad who meets with a fatal accident and encounters the God of Time (Pawan Kalyan), learning that his time on earth is up. Mark pleads for more time to secure his family's future. Time agrees, giving him three months under the condition of secrecy and constant companionship. Priya Prakash Varrier, Ketika Sharma, Brahmanandam and Subbaraju also play key roles in the movie.

Fatema (Bengali)

Cast: Rahul Banerjee, Moon Sarkar, Raju Majumdar, Barun Chakraborty, Manojit Boral, Anindita Som

Following her father's paralysis, Fatema (Moon Sarkar) quits her studies and secures a position as a maid in the residence of a Hindu priest (Rahul Banerjee). However, a Muslim girl staying in the house of a Hindu priest is not common and the situation soon meets with society’s disapproval. Raju Majumdar, Barun Chakraborty, Manojit Boral, Anindita Som play key roles in this drama directed by Atiul Islam.
