Teaming up with Rituparna Sengupta, Ek Duuje Ke Liye girl Rati Agnihotri is making her debut in Tollywood. Rati plays Urmila Sanyal, a celebrity social worker, in Aaiynate, to be directed by Dulal De. Rituparna is Malini, a photographer.

The cast includes Soumitra Chatterjee, Dipankar De and Aloknanda Roy.

“The story is about how Malini meets Urmila and the two bond instantly. But both women have a past and the past is related to their present,” said Dulal over phone from Mumbai. “I met Rati on the sets of one of her films in Mumbai. I narrated the script to her; she liked it and agreed to do the film. The other reason why I zeroed in on Rati is because I want to make Aaiynate in Hindi too. Rituparna is now a well-known face in Bollywood and so I thought they would make a good combination.... Rati is working hard on her Bangla. I have given her the script and she is learning the language.”

Produced by Narendra Kumar Surana, Aaiynate has six tracks sung by Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu. Shooting starts from mid-May.
