Bollywood actress, television show host and now, motivational speaker — Pooja Bedi showed a different side to her at Happy Soul Personal Transformation workshop, organised by Young Ficci Ladies Organisation (YFLO) at Aauris hotel on June 27.

During the three-and-a-half-hour session, the daughter of actor Kabir Bedi recounted moments from her life that pushed her to begin the pursuit of happiness and eventually led her to start Happy Soul, a series of motivational workshops.

Touching on topics such as hypnotherapy, regression therapy, neuro-linguistic programming and metaphysics, Pooja established their relevance in dealing with life as she spoke about coping with her “bohemian parents”, her divorce and the death of her mother, Protima Bedi, and her brother, Siddharth Bedi, who had taken his own life.

“People think I have no need for these things as I was born with a silver spoon. But just like everyone, I have had my struggles and I have learnt that I could choose to be happy and that is what I chose for myself. I studied various sciences to make myself better aligned to my universal self and through Happy Soul, I wanted to help as many people as I could,” said the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar star.

With tips on leading a positive life and a short meditation session based on the Hawaiian practice of forgiveness called Ho’oponopono, Pooja managed to keep the audience of over 85 women hooked till the end.

“It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm of the ladies. Even if one person follows the simple rules and leads a more positive life, she can perhaps influence more people to do the same,” signed off Pooja.
