Sporting pop-coloured headphones, Udyan Sagar (better known as Nucleya) was back in the city on Saturday. The DJ/music producer took over Bakstage, in Salt Lake’s Sector V, at 10.30pm with his trippy, dubstep and heavy bass and got the party lovers to scream F*ck that sh*t! He followed it up with signature tracks like Bangla bass, Akkad bakkad and Koocha monster.
The gig was a part of a movement that will have artistes like Nucleya, Monica Dogra, Karsh Kale, Indian Ocean and Swarathma mentor two bands each and some artistes from Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore. They will later jam together at a music festival in Mumbai in December.

Khushboo Barry was spotted with her hands in sync with the music beats. “Nucleya’s style and music is killer,” said the Mumbai resident, whose fave is Nucleya’s version of Chandan sa badan.

We spotted Shiladitya Bose perched right in front of Nucleya’s console. “I try never to miss his gig. Nucleya is always filled with surprises and his signature sounds set him apart. Besides being a DJ, he is a great performer,” said the 20-year-old, who is one of those selected to be mentored by Nucleya.

It’s difficult to miss DJ Rahul Indoria at a Nucleya gig. “Lotto lotto is my favourite Nucleya track. I love the amount of energy he puts in to make his music outstanding,” said the resident DJ of Privy.
