Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has become the first finalist of the Salman Khan-hosted Colors TV reality show Bigg Boss 16 after defeating her fellow contestants in a special remote-control task in the latest episode of the show.

In this task, a giant makeshift television set was placed in the garden area of the Bigg Boss house. All the contestants were asked to stand in their designated cells inside this set. Then, Bigg Boss asked random contestants to eliminate someone from the race to the finale by using a remote control.

The task began with Nimrit eliminating Priyanka because she made fun of Shalin’s mental health. Sumbul then took Shalin out of the captaincy race. The two got into a war of words as Shalin tried to reason with Sumbul that he has never been the captain of the house. However, by the end of the task, Priyanka, Archana and MC Stan failed to reach a consensus, which led to Nimrit retaining her captaincy and reaching the finale week.

With only less than two weeks to go for the finale of the Salman Khan-hosted reality show, the competition is getting fierce with every passing day.

Earlier in the day, Nimrit and Archana got into a heated argument regarding the use of flour for making rotis. Nimrit informed Archana that she had used someone else’s share of flour to make her dough, which triggered an outburst from the latter. Nimrit accused Archana of blowing things out of proportion for limelight while the latter called Nimrit “ungrateful”. The ‘Mandali’ gang comprising Shiv, Stan and Subul rushed to Nimrit’s defence.

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Shalin Bhanot, Sumbul Touqeer, Priyanka Chahar Chaudhury, Shiv Thakare, MC Stan and Archana Gautam are the remaining seven contestants on Bigg Boss 16.
