Naatu Naatu Oscar nomination: Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Chiranjeevi, Arjun Kapoor congratulate Team RRR

Composed by M.M. Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, the Telugu song recently won a Golden Globe award

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for team RRR following the final nomination of the Golden Globe-winning Telugu song Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category for the 95th Academy Awards on Tuesday.

Composed by M.M. Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, the foot-tapping track is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. In the film, the song is picturised on Ram Charan and Jr NTR, who shake a leg to the complex choreography by Prem Rakshit.

Director S.S. Rajamouli took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note after the big announcement. An excerpt from the note read, “My peddanna (Keeravaani) got an Oscar nomination for his song in my film... I can't ask for more... I am currently doing 'Naatu Naatu' more vigorously than Tarak and Charan.”

Keeravaani also took to Twitter to share his excitement. He wrote, “Congratulations to my team !! Big hugs to all 🤗”

Jr NTR tweeted an image to congratulate the entire team of RRR and especially the music composer and the lyricist. “This song will forever hold a special place in my heart,” he wrote.

NTR’s RRR co-star Ram Charan took to Twitter to share his joy after hearing the news. “Another very proud moment for us and India,” he wrote.

Alia Bhatt, who also starred in the film opposite Ram Charan, wrote a congratulatory note for the team on her Instagram story.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a still from the Naatu Naatu song on her Instagram story to congratulate the entire RRR team for the nomination.

Kuttey actor Arjun Kapoor also shared a still from the song on his Insta story and wrote, “And their dance revolution continues to spread like fire across the globe. Best original song nomination at the #Oscars2023. Can it get any bigger than this!”

Telugu star Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to congratulate the entire team of RRR and especially Keeravaani and Rajamouli for their achievement.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also congratulated the RRR team on Twitter.

The Naatu Naatu song will compete against Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)’ from James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, Lift Me Up from Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Hold My Hand from Joseph Kosinski’s Top Gun: Maverick, This Is A Life from Daniel Kwan-Daniel Scheinert’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Applause from Tell It Like A Woman.
