Meet The Finalists Of Nach Baliye In The Dance-up To The Final On Saturday. Who Is Your Pick? Tell T2@abp.in Published 29.01.14, 12:00 AM

Gurmeet Chaudhury & Debina Bonnerjee

Calcutta girl Debina and her husband Gurmeet have been strong title contenders from Day One on the STAR Plus show and are going into the final as favourites.

Strength: Our strength lies in our togetherness, chemistry and choreography. People on the streets have told us that they watch Nach Baliye because of us.

Weakness: The expectations we have built with every act, every week.

Strongest competition: We have concentrated only on ourselves and have never thought about competition.

Biggest challenge: “When Debina had fractured her rib. We emotionally broke down and yet managed to perform well. She is like a Bengali tigress. I would have backed out since health is my priority. But she stuck on,” smiles Gurmeet, who won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa two seasons ago.

Memorable moment: For the final act, the judges got up from their seats to applaud us. That was a huge moment.

If we win: We will definitely take a break. We will also meet the children of (NGO) Snehasadan, who have supported us a lot. We would like to help the kids there in their studies.

Vinod & Raksha

Physically challenged Vinod (he has no lower limbs), who first shot into the limelight as a contestant on India’s Got Talent, has impressed the judges with his never-say-die spirit.

Strength: Our co-ordination.

Weakness: “Vinod has no weakness. But sometimes, I get afraid when a new dance form is given to us,” says Raksha. Strongest competition: Gurmeet and Debina.

Biggest challenge: Our biggest challenge was not to get appreciation from the judges and viewers out of sympathy. Where we are today is because of our hard work alone.

Memorable moment: We got married on the show!

If we win: “We want to buy a flat in Mumbai. Raksha wants to act in TV shows and I want to help her fulfil her dream,” says Vinod.

RitHvik Dhanjani & Asha Negi

The stars of Zee TV TRP topper Pavitra Rishta have relied on their cute chemistry to come this far on the show.

Strength: We are each other’s strength. We motivate each other. Mutual trust is our biggest plus point.

Weakness: [Rithvik is the better dancer of the two and Asha often struggles to match up to him.] “Asha is a little lazy and she gets tired easily. Her body functions like that... it’s not her fault,” smiles Rithvik.

Strongest competition: Gurmeet and Debina.

Biggest challenge: We suffered an accident in the second week and that was a huge setback.

Memorable moment: Rithvik’s proposal to Asha on stage. “In front of the whole world, I told Asha what I felt about her for the first time. All the other contestants helped me. That was a sweet moment. Also, every time Asha gets a compliment, I feel very happy,” says Rithvik.

If we win: We will go to the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Ripudaman Handa & Shivangi Verma

The MasterChef India winner and his long-time girlfriend have transitioned from non-dancers to one of the front runners.

Strength: We are each other’s strength. Our focus, capability and energy are our strengths.

Weakness: If we try a new dance form in the finals, it may take time to pick up.

Strongest competition: Rithvik-Asha and Gurmeet-Debina are very good.

Biggest challenge: “Dance is not an easy job for us. I am a chef and Shivangi comes from the corporate world. Yet, we have managed to reach the top-4 stage,” smiles Ripudaman.

Memorable moment: When (judge) Shilpa Shetty said that she has become Shivangi’s fan.

If we win: We have planned a trip to Mussoorie and Nainital with our families. We need a break after the show since we have been working a lot for the last three months.
