Manoj Bajpayee-starrer The Fable to compete in Encounters segment at 74th Berlin International Film Festival

Directed by Raam Reddy, the film also features Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu in key roles

Manoj Bajpayee’s The Fable is the only Indian entry to compete in the Encounters segment at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, scheduled to take place from February 15 to 24.

A joint collaboration of the US and India, The Fable features an ensemble cast including Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu and child actor Awan Pookot.

Raam Reddy, who received critical acclaim for his debut film Thithi, is at the helm of this project, which will premiere alongside 14 other international titles in the Encounters Competition.

The last Indian film to participate in the Encounters Competition segment was The Shepherdess and The Seven Songs by Pushpendra Singh in 2020, while Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Shelter of the Wings was the last Indian film to have featured in the Main Competition category in 1994.

Apart from The Fable, other Indian films will also be showcased at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. Titles such as The Adamant Girl, In the Belly of a Tiger, O Seeker, Remote Occlusions and Two Refusals will be featured in the Forum segment.
