The statements issued by Johnny Depp and Amber Heard after their much-publicised court trial reached an end on June 1 have also generated a lot of extreme fan reactions.

Depp signed in bold red a two-pager statement that was posted on his Instagram and Facebook accounts about thirteen hours ago. In his statement, Depp pretty much summed up what he has told the court over the past many weeks about how his life came to a grinding halt “All in the blink of an eye”, following the “false, very serious and criminal allegations” levied against him by ex-wife Heard.

“The jury gave me my life back,” wrote Depp, going on to share why he decided to pursue the case. “From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me,” the note read.

Heard, who took a social media hiatus seven weeks before the trial after issuing a public statement, also returned to issue a fresh statement. Calling the verdict a “setback”, Heard opened with the lines: “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband.”

With 14.8M likes on Instagram and more than 8 lakh comments, Depp’s “Truth never perishes” statement received support from Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, actress Ashley Benson, comedian Morgana Robinson and supermodel Naomi Campbell, among others. On the other hand, Heard received more than 2 lakh likes and kept comments 'limited' on her Instagram account.

Depp and Heard were married from 2015 to 2017. The televised trial, held in Fairfax County Circuit, stretched over six weeks and kept the Internet abuzz around the globe, with #JusticeforJohnnyDepp trending on social media.
